John's Life in Thailand - John was an english
teacher in Chiang Mai for a few years. His collection of newsletters in Q & A format makes
excellent reading for anyone who wants to know what to expect when they get to Thailand.
Thailand Life - Nattawud Daoruang is a teenager in
Thailand, whose built a large site about Thai living. His site is in perfect English,
easy to navigate and contains volumes of information about the Thai lifestyle.

The Bangkok Post - The best source for news about
Thailand is the english-language Bangkok Post. Their web site reprints all the major stories
of their newspaper along with weather, exchange rates and a lot of other helpful information.
Tourism Authority of Thailand - If you're going to be traveling
around within Thailand it's a really good idea to make yourself familiar with the TAT. They
have offices virtually anywhere there's tourists and they're best people to ask for information
about bus routes, area maps, directions, prices, scams,
etc.. They proved helpful more times than I can count.

A collection of short stories from dozens of people who have traveled or lived
in Thailand. With so many different view-points you get a much better overall sense of what
the country is like than you would from a single persons writings.

An excellent story for anyone who's ever longed for the solitude of a monks
life.
Culture Shock: Thailand
This is a very in-depth book about the culture and taboos of Thailand, written
to be interesting and even humorous. Unless your planning on doing business in Thailand or
getting personally involved in the culture, this book is probably overkill.
Thai for Beginners by Benjawan Poomsan Becker
The best book for learning the Thai language. Period.
